Exposing vulnerabilities and exploits....

What if i didnt go to the conference and speak all those things out

I could have simply sold all my research works to some malicious attacker or some terrorist organization for a very big fat amount, who could gain benefit out of it

But i would never do that every in my entire lifetime as its not in my nature, i love my country so much that i would never do anything harmful against it and i dont want malicious attackers using my exploits and vulnerabilities for a bad purpose and intention

I discovered these potential exploits and vulnerabilities and they say like they wanna take this topic offline, okay i understand probably they wont be able to answer each of my questions in front of those audience

So to avoid that they might have said that the discussion needs to be taken offline, i understand that completely, there could be also some more reasons for that, anyways

The students who are responsible for handling and managing the event are also liable for taking care of the people over there in a very hospitality manner

Whileas the organizing students of the event [ NISCON ] was like they were rude to most of the people who came for the event, whileas very cheerful and collaborative with their colleagues, sponsors and panel members, now what kinda attitude is that

We are the audience, and being rude to us is not a good thing, infact the students who are managing this event are supposed to be helping us out, whileas that was not the situation over there

Anyways the information security conference NISCON was a complete failure all because of the students of SIMSR, the only thing which i found quite good was the paper work which was presented by Nilesh from SecureView on botnets

I am really tired and hungry, due to this tension, i also didnt have my dinner, i think i will go and sleep now, theres more to write about the conference but that will be tommorow....

A student from SIMSR [ Somaiya Institute Of Management Studies & Research ] blasts at me....

* Contd....

Now as i told earlier in my last post, this boy named " Ravi " who studies in SIMSR [ Somaiya Institute Of Management Studies & Research ] comes near me and almost blasts out at me

He came in so anger and was just blasting at me saying

Ravi - "Who the hell are you ?"

Ravi - "How dare you speak to Dr. Padmanav Moharana like that ?

Me - "I was only trying to ask my...."

Once again in full temper and anger he starting busting again at me saying

Ravi - "Do you know, he is a Doctor"

Ravi - "You are only a young boy, so keep quiet"

Well then his friend Vivek Silla, the Jt. Secretary for the conference [ NISCON ] saw something was going on at the backrow and he took Ravi with him

----

Well i just walked out of the red lounge as soon as possible

Now this student "Ravi" simply walks towards me who is sitting in the audience and start speaking out words with rage and anger

I mean if that student "Ravi" from SIMSR [ Somaiya Institute Of Management Studies & Research ] had some knife or gun in his hand, then he would have really killed me, i am not joking, i really mean it as he was so angry and losing his temper

During leaving the red lounge when i glanced towards him, this student "Ravi" from SIMSR [ Somaiya Institute Of Management Studies & Research ] was still looking at me with like he was really gonna kill me, staring at me making his eyes big indicating his anger was getting more and more

Actually todays incident has taught me a lot of things like
  • never ever take part in the conference until and unless its necessary
  • never ask questions or respond to any answers, in any conferences
  • never ever share some technical stuffs with the people present at the conference especially the guests and panel member
And maybe from today onwards i am gonna follow the above set of rules created by me :D

This is what you get when you speak out in public....

Actually i was at this information security conference [ NISCON ] today evening and they had a panel discussion over there where all the famous personalities would come from various firms and corporate companies to discuss amongst themselves topics related to security

So as i was attending this panel meeting, sitting at the backrow with two of my friends, the discussions were not quite good but they were also not that bad, at least we can say it was at a very moderate level

Well i was shaking like anything because the topics which the panel members were discussing had many flaws and vulnerabilities in it and i was thinking about asking questions to the members of the panel

There was this student who used to pass the mic around the audience, so i called him again and again, i was almost like, i used to keep the mic with me for sometime but i was already feeling so nervous and my body was shaking due to the cold air inside the red lounge where this panel discussion was going on, so it was bit uncomfortable for me to ask or break into an discussion with the panel members

Beyond that, all the panel members held high level positions in their respective companies, so that was also a concern like whatever i was gonna ask, it should be something special not some n00bish question

So whenever they used to talk i had question at each and every time when i thought there was a point where i could ask something, but as i told earlier, i was so nervous and my body was shaking badly

Then one of the members from the panel started saying like, that they were gonna soon end the discussions and the audience could throw in their questions, so that the panel members could answer them

So i gathered some courage, switched on my mic which i had been holding in my hands for quite sometime and lifted one of my hands indicating that i had a question for the panel members

It seems like i got an opportunity to ask my question, the question was for Dr. Padmanav Moharana

Okay now let me tell you here who is Dr. Padmanav Moharana

Dr. Padmanav Moharana works for Reliance Communications as a CISO [ Chief Information Security Officer ]

I really didnt know the name of the CISO who works for Reliance Communications present at the panel discussion, as we were sitting at the backrow it was also not possible to view the names on the desk of the various panel members

Actually i dont remember the exact conversation which took place but still i can explain

Me - "My question is for the panel member from Reliance"

Me - "Sir, you said that your networks are quite safe"

Me - "Sir, Reliance recently launched so many cyber cafes and as i have seen Reliance has completely broken down Windows and have made a single application where after the login has been done, all the utilities used for browsing, instant messengers and other common applications like word, powerpoint has been made available"

Me - "But Sir, the single application which Reliance has created is not so secure"

Me - "I could purchase the least available package for surfing in Reliance Web World and i could spend the entire day surfing without recharging my account or without paying any single rupee till the cafe is OPEN"

Rakesh Mohan Goyal the anchor of this panel discussion spoke out saying the following

Rakesh Mohan Goyal - "Can we take this issue offline after this panel discussion is over"

and i was like

Me - "Yea sure Sir"

Then i shared some of my queries which i had with Krishna Sastry Pendyala regarding " Source Codes " and he also responded quite well to that

Again i pointed a question to Dr. Padmanav Moharana saying that their information KIOSKS which are installed in most of the cities in Mumbai are also not safe

Once again Rakesh Mohan Goyal spoke out saying

Rakesh Mohan Goyal - "We take this issue offline"

and i was once again like

Me - "Okay"

Now this boy named " Ravi " who studies in SIMSR [ Somaiya Institute Of Management Studies & Research ] comes near me and almost blasts out at me

* i think i will make a new post as this one is getting somewhat bigger
